The effects of Blackcurrant extract on the evolution and rehabilitation of a 6-year-old girl genetically diagnosed with Rett syndrome (RTT) is the ficus of a recently published report by Dr. Jesus Devesa (photo) and his team from the Medical Centre Foltra, in Spain.
Rett syndrome is a rare genetic neurological and developmental disorder that affects the way the brain develops, causing a progressive inability to use muscles for eye and body movements and speech. It occurs almost exclusively in girls.
The now 6-month-long treatment with BC supplied by Vitality™ New Zealand plus melatonin, has led to clear improvements in most of the initial impairments in the girl. Dr. Devesa and his collaborators add that it is likely that the continuous treatment with BC may eventually help the girl’s way to recovering most of her neurological disabilities caused by the disease.
